I bought a used Fiesta on the 18 March. It had a full MOT with no advisories done the day before i collected it. Within the first week my husband and i noticed various faults with it. One being the bumper was glued to the chassis with filler. Only saw this when taking out headlight to change bulb. The tyres are low on tread, bad oil leak and handbreak inefficient etc. We complained to the garage and the vendor didnt want to know. Long story short, we got DVSA to inspect the car. The did another MOT and it failed on a headlight but had a list of advisories! Im trying to reject the car through the Consumer Rights 2015 Act. Im also trying to claim a refund through my bank using chargeback scheme.
I feel ive been sold an unroadworthy car. DVSA wont get involved in legal disputes and neither will the Police even though its a criminal offence to sell an unroadworthy vehicle!
Ive written letters to the vendor but hes not concerned at all. Refuses to refund me. Consumer rights advise to pursue refund with bank but if that fails it means going to the small claims court.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
