I have just had one of the most frightening driving experiences of my life.
I was going home from work in my Audi A4. I approached a street junction
at around 30mph . I put my foot on the brake pedal and there was no brakes
COMPLETE FAILURE. I grabbed the bottom of the steering wheel with both hands
and pumped the brake pedal furiously with all my strength, still no response
opposite the junction is a canal I kept driving the pedal to the floor, just as
hit the junction I swerved violently right into the road I was approaching, luckily there was
no traffic. At the very last moment I felt a low scraping sound in the brakes.
When I recovered my road position I tried the brakes again and they worked
perfectly. This was absolute brake failure, very very frightening, I can hardly
believe this has happened, my faith in my Audi A4 is shattered, I don't know
if I can ever chance driving this vehicle again. I will be contacting the Audi
main dealer first thing tomorrow morning as I think Audio have a very serious
recall problem. Has anyone out there had a brake failure problem with an
Audi A4. Audi owners please be warned, take extreme care. On hindsight
it might have been be better to apply the hand brake immediately, despite the
danger. This problem is critically serious please let me know if anyone has had a
similar experience.
