Hi,
Happy new year and thanks for all the excellent advice!
I was hoping someone might be able to advise me as to whether a letter I received is common or anything I should be worried about:
I was involved in an accident 2 months ago (I was rear ended after slowing in wet weather). Third party accepted liability at scene.
I reported to my insurance company who waived excess and had car fixed so as far I was concerned it was a closed case.
Yesterday I received a letter stating my insurers had been unable to recover costs as third parties insurers had yet to pay and a solicitor had been instructed who would be in touch in due course. I have had nothing stating they are disputing liability and other than giving my account on the day of the incident, was not asked for any details that suggest liability was contested (no diagrams etc required). Is this just the other insurance company dragging heels or is this something I need to worry about?
Thanks in advance
Lol
