Hi all. Here is my current situation:
1. Resident in UK, not UK citizen.
2. UK Provisional license + Practical Driving Test certificate (full license not arrived yet).
3. Age > 25.
4. No previous license or major driving experience, Started learning in July.
5. In case of buying a car i need to drive it to home, also planning to buy it and drive the same day.
Questions that i am trying to sort out:
1. Test drive - will insurance/road tax be sorted by seller/dealer? Do i need to have my own temp insurance in place to test drive a car?
2. Road tax is not transferable now so i will need to pay it online just after i bought it, will it cause any problems without having actual full license? Do i need insurance in place before i paying road tax?
3. Insurance - as i understood i need to have some temporal insurance to drive car home legally. Found few possible problems with this:
3.1 Most of temp insurance providers require year or more license holding. I have around 4 month.
3.2. I will need to apply for insurene just after buying a car so it should be done online anf fast.
Can you provide some advices and clarifications on the above? Help is greatly appreciated.
