Went to see a 2008 Ford Focus today (private seller)
Had previously got the last MOT doc number and Reg number and did the MOT history check through the GOV website.
https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history-vehicle
This only went back as far as 2012 and looked to be all ok with 5 previous owners.
Put down a deposit after I saw it, but when i got home decided to do a full vehicle check online.
Came back with "Caution: There is adverse data about this vehicle."
However only 3 mileage entries were shown and they were all older than the ones on the GOV website.
Source Date Mileage
DVLA 17/10/2012 77,000
DVLA 17/10/2012 22,000
DVLA 17/12/2009 78,000
These dates don't seem to make any sense to me, even if it was clocked back in 2009, why would it have 2 entries that were so different for 2012.
Anyone with any ideas, I just don't want to risk it, even if I end up losing my deposit.
Thanks
