Last night I was driving home and I noticed my car became a bit jolty and it started to vibrate a bit when accelerating . The engine management light came on straight after. I pulled over to see if I could figure out what was going on and everything seemed to be fine, but I did notice the car wasn't starting up as efficiently as it usually does. I managed to get home without any troubles and the car wasn't jolting or vibrating.
The next day I took it to my local garage and they hooked it up to the diagnostics to see what the EML was signalling. Apparently Cylinder 1 had been misfiring. He also noticed that there was very little coolant in the expansion tank. They had recently fitted a new radiator and A/C condensor to the car a couple days ago so he said that maybe it could of been a misreading, so he reset the ECU and told me that if the light comes on again that I should come back to the garage. Now knowing what the problem was I took the car for a drive the next day and it seemed to be driving fine without any problems until about 30 minutes in the engine light came back on and I could feel the car vibrating a lot and I had hardly any acceleration when pulling off, which was clearly the engine misfiring. It only lasted for a minute or two then the engine ran normally again without misfiring. It seems to be an on and off thing.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
