6 Hour Wait on A303

I broke down on a busy section of A303 yesterday in Wiltshire at 11.40am, eventually got through to the RAC through Aviva at midday.

RAC van finally got out to me 2 1/2 hours later, but said I would need to be towed as he couldn't help me.

He contacted Westbourne motors, who said may be another 2 hours, was by this time getting frantic, as there was no access to food or water nearby, was fobbed off several more times by Westbourne Motors - a tow truck eventually got out to me at 5.40pm - 6 hours after initial breakdown! In fairness tow truck driver was a lovely man, who let me stop at a service station on way home to get some food and water.

During this 6 hour wait, I had various friends and family, who were about 1 1/2 hrs away offering to come with food and water, but as I kept being told someone would be there soon, I said not to worry - It would almost have been better if I had been told recovery would take 6 hours in the first place and then at least I could have made other arrangements rather than sitting in the middle of nowhere for 6 hours with traffic speeding past me!

Have registered my complaint this morning, but told it may take a month for a response - nothing happens quickly in RACs world - be warned!
