hoping someone can give some advice on my alto clutch issue. It has 93000 miles on it, the clutch does not slip or anything, but recently the car has started making a thudding noise when the clutch pedal reaches a certain travel position when nearly fully pressed down. This thudding can be felt through the pedal; it happens in neutral, going through the gears etc, but it is also intermittent. sometimes there sometimes not but very noticeable when it is. It does not seem to be coming from the clutch pedal its self. There is no grinding or anything like that. It happens whether lifting off or pressing down the clutch lever. The clutch is cable driven on these so no master cylinder etc to try bleeding - I have tried lathering the pedal, spring, and the adjustment nut etc underneath with WD40 but it seems to have a limited effect if at all. Can anyone shed any light on what it may be?? A garage has suggested it sounds like its coming from the bellhousing so new clutch kit but other garage is unconvinced and says cable issue or something like that? Any suggestions are welcome!
