My 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara has an odd problem with its air conditioning system:
When the aircon is on and the airflow is set to "face", the system switches from fresh air to recycled air after a few seconds. This does not happen if the airflow is set to "windscreen" or to "feet" or "face and feet" or to "windscreen and feet" - only if set to "face". Otherwise the air that flows is being sufficiently cooled in my judgment.
On two occasions, when getting the vehicle serviced at Suzuki dealerships, I asked them to find out what the recycled-air problem might be and to fix it and twice they have failed to do so. At one Suzuki dealership, the service department expressed the opinion that there is something wrong with the electonics controlling the system and that to fix it would involve replacing some computer chip and could cost about £800. This seems unreasonable.
Anybody had a similar experience or have any ideas?
