Hi there to everyone first off I'm new to driving and recently got myself a ford fiesta freestyle 2002 zetec car now I had this problem with a water leak that at the front of the car and then my air conditioning started to blow cold air I wondered why I check the temp gauge and that was sitting at halfway didn't go over that so I took it
To a garage to get fixed and got told that I needed a thermostat and that was costing £70 for the part plus labour so I took the car away for a few days until I raised the money finally got the cash and took it too the garage then later on in the day the garage had phoned and said it needed a motor heater too so added it on without saying anything so that came to a total of £90 all in for that so I said fine OK then I get my car back after paying the money and checked if all was well and everything was great when I turned the temp to cold I got cold and when I turned it to hot it went hot so after testing it coming from the garage I turned the temp to cold and kept it there as it was a hot day so I was driving home and noticed when I slowed down or stopped I got this gust of hot air all of a sudden blowing out my vents I checked the temp turnkey knob switch and it was set to cold I couldn't understand what was going on so got back home phoned the garage had to come down to see them they checked it out and even they couldnt make any sense of it so at the end of the conversation and checking he's putting it down to the turn knob switch so I think he's saying its more money what do I do people I mean am I getting scammed at the end of the day I was only wanting my car fixed and safe for myself and my kids I am unsure to go back to garage as its still blowing hot air unless I turn the air conditioning off even then it builds up hot on dash board I just don't know what to do any ideas or advice would be great many thanks scott
