I drive a 2010 Peugeot 207 SW auto VTi Sport. It's a 1.6 petrol with 48,000 miles on the clock.
A little while ago, I noticed the temperature gauge began to behave erratically, rising quickly then suddenly dropping.
There were no other issues at the time.
More recently it was been losing coolant from the cap on the expansion bottle, some days nothing is lost other days 1 litre or so can blow out. It's definitely through the cap. I had the cooling system pressure tested which showed no loss of pressure over the test period.
I have had a new cap put on, new tensioners on the water pump fitted and an alternator over-charging problem repaired. I have had the car's computer reset. The problem continues i.e. loss of coolant and an erratic temp gauge.
Has anybody had similar problems and what was done to rectify? Thanks.
