Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI

Hi,
I have owned my 02 plated Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI Ghia for 18 months with 96k on the clock for which I have used this forum before in aiding in its use. I am currently experiencing an intermittent problem, in that the glow plug light is flashing randomly, I cannot link my driving style to each occurrence, so far I have not experienced it at high speed. The glow plug light flashes and the engine enters limp home mode, but she does not cut out like in other reports she just continues, there are no fault codes stored on the onboard computer, I haven't taken it to a Diesel Specialist as of yet.
There have been not even a handful of occasions where she has cut out when the revs have dropped i.e slowing down at a junction at very slow speed which is a bit odd. But on each occasion there was no glow plug light. The car is well looked after and regularly serviced, fuel additives used at the intervals recommended by the product.
I am at a bit of a loose end as I can do bits and bobs about the car, but I am a little bit lost due to the electronics. It was suggested that I reset the ECU but unplugging the battery for an hour and letting it idle and start to relearn, so I did that on Monday and the car ran great for 4 days until the glow plug light came on again tonight. I have replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor and the Cam Position Sensor and loom. I have heard of the fuel metering valve issue but I haven't tried this as of yet.
I thank you in advance for any support you can offer.
Best regards,
Sean
