OK, first off I will say I know it is my fault as I should have checked for a proper landline number.
The wife came in yesterday and showed me the broken hose for the vacuum cleaner. I decided to phone Vax direct to purchase a replacement. I looked at the paperwork and found a number for parts sales. I get an automated message telling me to phone a different number. I dial the second number and eventually get past the men system and get to talk to a real person.
Phone bill came through this morning which includes yesterday's calls. (I pay monthly DD, and have electronic billing.) The first call to Vax to be told to phone another number cost 75p, and the second call menu system cost around 50p.
To be given a phone number, then to dial that number and be charged 75p to be told to phone another is annoying to say the least.
