Hi I have a 2006 Toyota Avensis hatchback. I did a round trip to Europe during the summer over 2500 miles without incident and had the car MOT'd before I left. I am not aware of any incidents (e.g. hitting potholes) in the car since it was MOT'd but I had two new tyres fitted last week and was told that one of the wheels (offside rear) was slightly buckled and would need replaced.
I didn't have time to do anything about it before I set off on another 800+ mile trip and the car cruised happily at 70-75mph. There was no noticeable problem during the trip - no wobble, vibration etc. I am reluctant to splash out on a new wheel if I don't really need one. Can I afford to wait until I notice a problem with the wheel or are there inherent dangers with such an approach?
If I do replace the wheel, can anyone offer suggestions as to where I should buy and how easy it would be to match my other wheels?
Thanks in advance.
