What insurance do I need?!?!

Hi all,

For the past few years I've used a specialist broker but I've been told by a lot of sources that I can look for a normal policy with business use instead.

I run a business escorting abnormal loads throughout the UK - In short we are the people that - well, escort a truck carrying wind turbine blades for example.

I've previously used vans but the industry is switching toward using estate cars instead. The vehicle is fitted with amber warning beacons on the roof and removable chevrons on the rear and so forth. I'm aware I need to make an insurer aware of these mods.

However - Will normal Class 1 business cover this?

One day I could be driving London - Birmingham and all I'll be doing is following a vehicle to it's destination. I'll never carry any goods. So in theory I'm travelling on business from point A to point B - The foggy area is that I'm actually escorting something during that period.

I've been told that with a C1 policy I only need make the insurer aware of this and point out that I will be escorting at times and as long as that information is recorded then all is ok?
