I had a head on collision the other day. It occurred on a long private driveway just off a country lane - I had turned onto the drive and was proceeding at approx 20mph towards a slight corner which is essentially a blind bend, when another car came briskly (I won't say flying, but in my opinion she was going way too quick considering it was a blind bend on a single track road!) - I slammed my brakes on but we did hit each other - no skid marks whatsoever from the other car, I'm not sure she even put her brakes on.
The other driver was going at such a speed that she hit the steering wheel and was unconscious, her (literally one week old, brand new!) car looks likely to be a write off, whereas I was uninjured and the damage to my car seems pretty minor in comparison, BUT they'll probably want to write mine off because it's old.
There has been talk of 50:50 by the insurance companies, which I'm actually pretty annoyed about - I was virtually at a standstill when this girl ploughed into me and dont feel I should have to bear any of the cost, she was blatantly going far too quickly! Is there anything I can do to prove I wasn't at fault? There weren't any witnesses although people have said they have seen her whizzing around way too fast in the past!
