first I have never owned a Landrover or I might know the answer
this happened in 1976 and I still remember it happening ...the wife was fetching her husband from the pub it was August 1976 it was a very hot summer and the ground was hard and there was dew falling making things a bit slippy and the couple had to cross a field which was slopping and the husband got out of the landrover to open the gate and the landrover ran back over top of him although the handbrake was on and he died from his injuries a few days later and the handbrake design was blamed for accident ... another story .. a neighbour bought a new LWB Landrover in 1976 and he had the habit of applying handbrake before vehicle had stopped in 1978 the landrover needed a new gearbox ... final story in 1985 I remember seeing a new Landrover at a main dealer in Newtown which was completely wrecked and I knew a fitter at the dealer and I asked him what happened and he said it was parked on a sideland field and it ran away and was wrecked and he said it was handbrake design which caused it , so how does handbrake work??
