Nissan Almera Tino 1.8 misfire

Hi all

First post hoping for some advise.

Nissan Almera Tino
1.8 (QG18DE)
HD02GYV
101K miles

Ive got a misfire on my car, specifically cylinder 4 (Gearbox side).

Ive attempting some diagnostics my self and they have all checked out so now not too sure where to go to next.

First symptoms:
-------------------
* Constant misfire, regardless of engine speed and temperature.
* It happens on idle and at speed.
* It happens when the engine is cold and up to temperature.
* The ECU does not limit the revs so i can get it past 2k, all be it roughly.

Attempted diagnostics:
---------------------------
* Swapped coils round by one and the miss stays on cylinder 4.
* Swapped spark plugs out for new ones and miss stays on cylinder 4.
* Hooked up to diagnostics, only error is reporting the miss we already know.
* Attempted to check for power at the connectors to the injector and coil with a screwdriver stick thing with light in it (Can't remember its name).
** I found that one wire has constant live on both connectors when ignition is on.
** With the engine running i would have expected the second wire to cause the light to pulse as its telling to injector and coil to fire,
however it didn't. Checked other coils and injectors and they behaved the same so not too sure there.
* Attempted to listen to the injector to see if i can hear it click. Could only use an old length of bolt but it seems like i can hear it clicking.
When un plugging the injector there is a noticeable difference. When comparing it to another injector it sounds the same.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To Add:
Unplugging either the coil on no. 4 or the injector and the misfire doesn't change. It misfires exactly the same with no 4 coil or injector plugged in or removed.

At this point im done. My next thought was attempting to remove the injector for cylinder 4 and see if its not clogged up and actually letting fuel through.

Ive not checked fuel pressure either, but i would have thought low fuel pressure would affect all cylinders randomly causing misfires across the board.

I haven't checked if the timing chain has stretched either, not too sure how, could that cause a miss on my specific cylinder?

Any advise of where to go next would be great.

Thanks for your time all, sorry for the massive post.

Stephen

PS could really do with a way of formatting text, would make this post so much more readable!
