There's a slip road on the A14 around J7 that I frequently have to use, however it's incredibly short and you barely have enough time to get up to speed (especially in a 1.2). Most drivers simply stop and wait for a large gap before quickly accelerating, this wasn't much of an issue over the summer because there was a lot of visibility, of course now it gets dark a lot earlier making it difficult to judge the distance between cars already on the carriageway.
This definitely isn't your average slip road, and to try and merge without stopping seems like it would be incredibly risky as there isn't a great deal of visibility since you approach the slip road up a hill. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be another route I can take so it is my only option. Has anyone had experience using such slip roads and can offer any advice?
