Car normally starts and runs perfectly. One time in 10 cold starts, engine cranks well but no sign of starting. Breakdown guy couldn't find anything obvious wrong but tried starting the car in gear and it started. This usually works for me but not always, then after a few days it starts first time and runs perfectly. I'm not an expert on fault codes, but am I right in thinking that until the car actually starts, there are no codes generated? Out of ideas, but need a reliable car. Any suggestions please?
