We have just returned from a holiday in Norfolk. A few days ago, whilst following a motorcaravan, I said to my wife that he/she(?) was passing so close to parked vehicles that a collision was quite likely. sure enough, a little further on this motorcaravan scuffed a nearly new BMW that was parked at the kerb. I was a discrete distance behind and had to slow right down for a person crossing the road, the motorcaravan taking a quick left turn before I got all of the number plate. So I also turned left and followed it. I had to speed up a bit because I think the driver clocked me following and he/she started to accelerate away. By this time I had got the reg., and turned back to where it happened and put a note under the wiper of the BMW.
The BMW driver later saw the motorcaravan, recognised the number I had left for him, and challenged the driver of the motorcaravan.
He, the BMW driver, has since given me a call and the situation is now with the insurers.
Myself, I would have waited the 24 hours and then reported the matter to the police. Anyhow, another sneaky driver trying to avoid taking responsibility has been caught!
