My first post here and after some advice on probable outcome. The other day I was involved in a 3 car collision on the A5 nr Shrewsbury.
The weather was good and dry, I was approaching an island and noticed the traffic was all slowing down due to a queue waiting to get of the junction (the road veers off to the left before the island) so i braked and slowed down. I am not 100% sure if i actually came to a stop or just slowed right down, whichever way there was a fair gap between myself and the car infront.
All of a sudden I heard screeching tyres and looked in the mirror to see the 3rd party flying up his car was dipped at the front swaying. In my head I said to my wife we are going to get hit but the words never came out. My wife was on the phone to her mother at the time who said she heard a bang and me say we are spinning (i don't remember saying that).
After the impact I don't remember much except we ended up on the verge pointing uphill.
The damage to my car was all rear end and significant and has been written off, 3rd party car front end caved in, both air bags deployed, smashed windscreen, engine and wheel moved back etc you get the picture, 3rd party 2, bumper and boot damage.
I have heard from my insurance company that both the 3rd parties involved are trying to claim of my policy saying i caused the collision. In a way I can understand the 2nd 3rd party however I don't believe my car hit her as there is no damage to my front end at all and I have a text message of her saying she had a picture of the car that hit her, she sent the pic to me and it is the 3rd parties car not mine, from what i can gather it was in situ after the collision as she says you can't see her car in the pic.
The 3rd party I can't see how he can claim I was at fault when I was either stopped or braking for the queue and he rammed me so hard (i estimate he was doing about 60mph) i apparently spun and ended up off the road up a bank.
Both the 3rd parties are insured with the same company and are claiming injuries and damage, my insurance have asked me to have an interview with an investigation firm as they have no details or pics of the accident. I wrote and sent the pics i have by email earlier so hope that helps but still need to be interviewed.
Can the insurance co really think i was at fault?
What is the likely hood of me being found responsible?
I have pics of all 3 vehicles and the damage.
