Speed camera ticket M25

Hi all. New to the forum and looking for a bit of advice. I got flashed on the M25 in the early hours of 22nd October. The circumstances are unfortunate as I was in a loan car and so did not have the tracker or dash cam data. If I did, this whole thing would be gone in a flash... or two flashes as the case maybe. I was approaching J29 for southend and the overhead signs were 60, 50, 50, then a side sign of 50 and then overhead reading 20. I was doing the 50 and when I saw the 20 sign ahead I was certainly not slowing to 20 with trucks thundering up behind me so knocked off the cruise at the last 50 (the side sign) and coasted under the "20" gantry. I was flashed. So were about 6 vehicles behind me. I have the NIP and it states I was doing 63 in a signed 40 (variable limit section) Not in a million years was I doing 63 and the sign did not show 40. It showed 20. If I contest this are they going to still stick it on me or could I get away saying their equipment was faulty. If required would they have to call the other drivers at witnesses as they will all say it said 20 too. They only have to check who was flashed on that occasion and there are the witnesses. It seems like everything was 20mph out. I was probably doing 43. Can I have some advice from people in the know rather than a few guessers? I will be grateful for any advice.

Thanks

steve
