This is just a warning to those taking out this cover - you are not getting what you think...
this was my original post from a few weeks ago. I thought I would update you.
"Catalogue off errors, miss-information, call handlers who contradicted each other and had no knowledge of the details of our cover, rudeness from the staff with no sympathy as to our situation, at one stage leaving us sitting on a pavement in Paris in the rain surrounded by all our camping luggage as they had sent us to a hire car outlet they ensured us was open but was shut. We have also been charged for the return of our one way car hire they set in place to repatriate us and have told us the hire car key has not been found although it was placed in the ferry terminal box as requested. Inability to fix a simple problem with the car (a 10 minute reset took them 3 days to rectify). We have also been told that the repatriation of our vehicle will take 3 weeks but we will be charged 30 euros per day of that time for storage of the vehicle. Our dealings with the RAC have caused us considerable stress and expense."
Since then my husband has traveled back to France to collect our car - a blown fuse (we had spare fuses in the car!)
We lodged a complaint with RAC and have just heard this hasnot been upheld for the reason: "the third party service providers are independent and due to this the RAC cannot be held liable for their acts or omissions."
This policy is not worth the paper it is written on...
