Car is Astra J 2014 SRI 1.4 turbo petrol 29k on clock.
Vauxhall say flywheel needs replacing under warranty. Terrible rattle on start up when warm only. They say they will not replace the clutch though and I am getting opinions that the clutch should really be replaced at the same time? We don't know how long the rattle has been going on for as only bought the car 2 weeks ago and it has been doing it since then. Garage we bought off said they would strip it down but I would obviously rather Vauxhall did this under warranty.
I'm concerned that the clutch may be damaged as a result of flywheel problem but that we will never know if they just replace the flywheel. No symptoms of clutch problems. (yet!). I would have thought that given that they need to remove the clutch ( I think) to replace the flywheel (at only 2 years old and 29K) then really they should replace the clutch? Any thoughts would be most welcome.
