Firstly thank you for being here, secondly if I am posting in he wrong place, I apologise
This morning I was driving somewhere strange to me, having never been here before I was cautious and paying extra heed to traffic
I approached a long line of traffic as it was 08-10 and rush hour, I approached a filter lane and maintained my position in the left hand side, in my officer mirror I saw a black vw shooting down the outside and I assessed that they would be attempting to bypass the waiting traffic and force themselves in at the filter
By the time the car reached myself, they were alongside me and the filter gap had expired and there really wasn't any space to let them in, without them clipping me on the way through, I therefore continued my path forwards travelling around 10mph
The other car sounded its horn and was obviously irate and in a hurry, but there really want anything I could do, the vehicle in front of me, slowed due to allowing the vehicle it had allowed to filter pull away, I touched my brakes to allow a slight distance and the car to my right then banged into me, their near side front hit into my offside rear causing some damage, my vehicle is brand new so a bumper dent and rear quarter panel forced forward isn't acceptable
I got out and was met with a woman swearing at me, I asked her was she ok and perhaps she should drive less aggressively, she responded that I am obviously a stranger to the area as I would have known hat everyone filters here and that I braked and stopped for no reason, she said we is determined to make sure I am blamed for the incident, I gave her my details name telephone insurance etc and requested hers, she gave me her name and address only, so out of caution I took pictures of both vehicles her reg number and her in case she says she wasn't driving
I am concerned that she is going to say that this is my fault
Any advice will be appreciated thank you
