Hey there,
I was hoping you might be able to share your experiences/advice with me.
I was in an accident yesterday and it occured when I turned right across two lanes at a traffic lights. I positioned myself and edged out, no cars were coming, in the distance I could see one car but judged I had plenty of time and it would be safe to turn so I turned. The car subsequently hit the back of my vehicle, the bumper underneath my passenger side light.
We both stopped and I STUPIDLY said sorry, I couldn't help myself and I wish I hadn't but I just couldn't help it - I've been driving about 10 weeks and this is the second incident I've been involved in.
The second point is that I was driving a hire car as I was in a proven no-fault accident a few weeks earlier, I feel like I have the worst luck in the world.
Anyway, my main question was have I completely ruined any chances of this being judged anything but my fault due to saying sorry? What actually happens if I am proven to be at fault? I don't really understand how it works as I imagine being in a hire car it's not directly connected to my insurance policy for my usual car?
Part of me wishes I'd never started driving!
Thank you for any help.
