Hi,
I passed my test few weeks ago after a few years of stopping and starting lessons so next thing is to buy a car, which I'm finding kind of daunting because I don't know much about cars at all. I've been looking around doing research but there is so much information and things to consider I end up getting even more anxious about it. I have decided to buy from a garage I know it'll be more expensive but i think it's better for now. So I have a few questions that could be useful before I go into the garage, I don't really have anyone I can take with me who knows enough about cars so the more I can prepare the better.
I have a budget of £1500 so something quite basic, I have been looking at a citroen C2 2005 that's £990, 102,000 miles . Is that reasonable or a rip of? Any way these are my questions.
1. how long should i test drive the car for, does the sales person go on the test drive to? I haven't driven since passing my test so pretty worried about this.
2. what is too many miles for a used car? I don't understand mileage at all!
3. If the MOT needs to be carried out quite soon, how much could this be?
4. I have been looking at insurance. Is fully comp the best option?
5. What should I put for annual mileage on quote forms? I really don't know how many miles i'll end up doing
6. If I do buy from a garage, will it always come with warranty, will it be straightforward to take it back if I do find issues with it?
7. Should I negotiate the price, or is that only for more expensive/new cars? if so how would I go about it?
I know this has been an essay, but your help would be much much appreciated :)
