Hi. 4 days ago, I bought myself a second hand Renault megane and got insured through sheilas Wheels broker. Only two days later, on my way home from work, a mini bus driver tried to exit the roundabout from the wrong lane from behind me and hit my rear, right wing, sent me skidding and I went up the kurb hard. We thought the damage was minor and decided to leave it but I have access to his details, potential cctv on the roundabout and texts from him pretty much admitting to being involved in the accident. The following night, the first time driving it after the incident, I was driving it to a friends for him to look at it the following day and make sure there was no other damage to the wheels etc. On the way, while driving through a national speed limit lane, I was doing only 45 mph around a very open bend (it was more like a camber in the road, you can't even call it a bend...) and my back end just suddenly kicked out. Whilst trying to regain control, my back end skidded into the grass on the bank and it flipped and it looks like a complete write off. Everybody I have spoken to are convinced that the accident the night before caused damage which caused the car to lose control and I want to take it further with the otaxi drivers insurance. I'm just worried that my insurer will say that I was driving it with pre-existing damage and it will be void or cause more complications. Any advice will be much appreciated because I need a car for both jobs for commuting and I can't afford to pay out excess or lose my claim over a dispute. Thank you.
