Hi All!
I had an accident in a car park where someone reversed into me. I called my insurance and they passed my claim to a company called Albany Assistance. There was a dispute between the other party and myself and I finally accepted 50/50 settlement. My insurance company confirmed that the claim is settled and I have no excess to pay and my no claim bonus is not impacted, on the basis that the other party is not looking at making a claim.
What I dont understand is that I made a claim and Albany Assistance recovered only half of the repair costs from the third party insurance and have asked my insurer to pay for the other half. Therefore I struggle to understand how my no claim bonus is not impacted. I called a few times and they advised that as they will not pay money directly to the other insurance but to Albany Assistance it is not impacting my no claim bonus.
I am worried that they will reopen the claim soon but they said they would only do this if the other party makes a claim as well (they said they have 6 years to do this but it is unlikely as they advised they are not looking at making one).
How is this possible, have you already heard about similar situations?
Thanks!
