Finally found the part I needed for my bumper lights (and received fabulously good customer service) but accidentally uncovered something possibly worrying in the process. Original car with personal plate was silver; replacement car was silver and new to me car (current) is dark green. Plates transferred via DVLA each time. All seems correct on DVLA website, etc. but but a lot of the places I rang in trying to get the part said it was silver.
What website were they using? In fairness to the guy from the company I ordered from, he eventually found the car after four minutes; did apologise for the delay and said they're required to check (a) to be sure they've got the right part for the vehicle in question and (b) for security reasons - mainly for the customer.
Any of you enlighten me, please?
