Yesterday I had to call out RAC to my Renault Scenic, due to an Ignition Coil that had gone in my 16 valve engine. RAC use and carry Valeo Ignition coils from Euro Car Parts, on the Euro Car Parts website they charge £20 for this part. However at the roadside I am charged around £35 + VAT.
Does anybody know how these prices are worked out? Surely charging nearly twice the cost for the part is a bit extreme. I only ask, because I expect that the other 2 coils will go soon, if the car doesn't last til its booked in service. Its a known fault on the Renault engine I have apparently.
