Technical question for Hometune!

I've been playing with my new diagnostic tool today and bravely checked out some live data on a Ford Focus with a 1.6 TiVct engine. It's running fine with no warning lamps but the readings I get on the camshaft positions are 0 degrees on tickover but by steadily increasing the revs up to about 4000 rpm, the exhaust camshaft steadily increases to around 42 degrees but the inlet only goes up to between 0.37 and 1.4 degrees. It show the exact same figures for the camshaft solenoid valves. If I snap the accelerator open sharply, the inlet briefly shows around -15 degrees or so (twice out of about 20 or so snaps of the accelerator I had it cough back through the inlet manifold). As I say, it driving perfectly fine and it has had two new VCT units fitted less than four months ago (that's why I was checking them to see what actually happens when the revs increase). Is that right or is there something wrong - 1.4 degrees advance on the inlet cam hardly seems worth bothering about! Also, where can I get a data book that will show me what all these live readings on various mainstream cars should be?
