Hi All
VW Beetle 2 litre year 2000
A work mate is having trouble fuelling his beetle, he says that it can take 15 minutes to put in £7 worth.
He has had a mechanic look at it who has told him he needs a new fuel tank as the part that is at fault cannot be removed separately. A new tank is £400! which will be worth more than the Beetle :) as far as I know the mechanic hasn't stated what part is faulty.
I have found a couple of threads on other forums which seem to be about the same or similar problems which have both mentioned Evap canister or evap solenoid. Each had a solution which involved taking the filler door out and removing a filter from the evap canister.
Both of the threads were from U.S forums and I don't know if the same will apply to UK beetles?
Before my work mate takes out a new mortgage or the pot luck of a tank from the scrappy which may or may not have problems of its own any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
