Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any advice..I'm really worried and stuck!
I passed my driving test 27/11/15, mainly to help my partner with hospital appointments as it is a long way to the Christie on public transport. My father in law has bought a second car cheap run around for work and has added me on the named driver. When the v5 came this week, it is in my name rather than my father in laws, as the place we bought it has filled in the green form in the wrong name. When taking out the insurance, my father in law has put that he was the registered keeper.
on 24/12/15 I borrowed the car at night and parked in a car park. On returning to the car at approx 11pm, I noticed a car behind me with lads smoking weed. the passenger door was open and they were all stood around the door. I reversed from my space and paused. When I paused the lads appeared at my passenger window saying I had reversed into them and caused a ridiculous amount of damage - which I didn't do. They became threatening demanding I pay them 500 pound or they would claim for injuries. I gave them my phone number as I wanted to get away from them. they would not allow me to take pictures of the damage nor the reg number. When I got home I called the police but as no one was injured and it wasn't on a road, it wasn't reportable.
About a week later, my father in law receives a call regarding a third party claim for damage and personal injury - I did not do anything!
My insurance company this week have now sent a letter saying because the v5 doesn't match the quote my insurance could be void. They are also insinuating fronting, from what I can make out in the letter!
Please can anybody give me any advice?
