Hi all
My 207 1.4 petrol single cam (2008) has had three thermostats over the past 2 months. In each case when I remove the part from the engine the spring and other parts have disintegrated. In two case the part was only two days old. The symptoms are that the engine over cools and the temp gauge on the dash only reads 70degrees and usually takes several miles of driving before it moves the needle off the bottom of gauge.
When new the gauge works fine and the needle sits around the 90degrees mark and gets there within a couple of miles of driving.
Then, after a day or two the gauge goes back to its old ways of sitting at 70 degrees.
Once I've spotted the symptoms on the dash temp gauge I've taken the thermostat out of the engine and there it's is again, in bits.
Any suggestions please?
Thank you.
