Hi, I am looking for suggestions of possible faults causing the Engine Malfunction warning on my CMax.
It is a 2008 CMax TDCi 1.6 diesel, with approx. 137,000 mileage.
It has been serviced by main dealers at the regular intervals since I bought it 4 years ago, most recently 6 weeks ago.
The only repair I have carried out was to replace the EGR valve about 18 months ago.
I did the self-diagnostic test and it doesn't show up any DTC fault codes.
Previous intermittent Engine Malfunction warning I eventually worked out to be bad quality fuel, however I think this new fault is different as it is constant and does not reset by turning on and off the ignition as the old problem did.
My next step will be to find a local garage with diagnostic equipment, but in the meantime I would appreciate any suggestions as to what the fault may be based on other peoples experiences please!
