Tearing my hair out on this one. I have a 2004 mk3 mondeo tdci diesel hatch that was taking ages to warm up so I replaced the main water thermostat and the oil thermostat but its the same and the gauge never reaches 90 and goes up and down whilst driving. My heater seems OK
I used the dash test mode and monitored the Cylinder head temperature. It took ages to move from cold and at most only reached 83 (on a short bit of dual carriageway doing 70) but most of the time it hung around the 80 mark dropping to 75 in traffic or whilst coasting downhill. At no point did it reach 90. I tested the water stat in boiling water before fitting and it seemed to be working fine. The temp gauge does the diagnostic sweep OK and there are no error codes.
Any ideas please?
