Blocking someone's driveway

I am a nervous new driver and always feel I've done stuff wrong-
I was driving through my little village and there was a train coming so cars were queued. As I approached the queue, there were parked cars which I needed to go round. I could see a space in front of the parked cars which I could fit into nicely and join the queue. I made sure this wouldn't block a drive or road and drove into the space. A few minutes later I noticed a car behind me which didn't make much sense since I'd thought only I would fit into the gap. Either the owner had got in and turned the car on or someone else had managed to fit in. It was a taxi. I looked around but I was pretty sure it wasnt a taxi rank or anything. Anyway, a lady then came and tapped on my window and asked me to move forward which I did but could only go like a few centermeters so not to hit the car in front! I don't know why she did! The taxi didn't move and I did see a car drive away after that from a drive to my left (left and behind my car) I wasn't blocking it! I now feel like I've done something wrong and will do it again because I don't know what I did!
