My parents are in their 70s. Their ancient automatic car (1991 vintage) is finally reaching the end of its useful life and they are looking to buy a replacement used car. I'd be grateful for any thoughts about suitable makes / models / specs. It would have to be an automatic. They don't have any particular mobility issues other than the usual aches and pains! The car would mainly be used for local trips of max 1 hr. Their current car is a Citroen and they feel quite loyal to the brand without being absolutely fixed on it so would consider other makes. No preference for diesel or petrol - comfort, good handling and ease of access (for future proofing) are the key criteria (in addition to the automatic gearbox).
