I have a 2005 1.6 Zetec 50,000 miles Ford Focus. On a few occasions I have noticed the speedometer suddenly went from showing 60mph to showing zero, but soon recovered. Today I was going down a motorway at a steady 60mph plus when it happened again. This time I noticed the engine faltered but after a very short while the speedo went back to normal and the engine recovered. Could this a problem with the speed sensor in the gearbox or something else?
