Hi.
I am looking for advice. I had a new gear box and clutch fitted to my astra 1.3 diesel estate just over a year ago at mileage of around 115.000. It was June/July 2014. I use the car regularly through the week but no big journeys. I have had a round trip from Plymouth to Bristol and Plymouth to Manchester since new box and clutch fitted. While en route to London a few days back the gear box started whining and after ten/fifteen minutes I was UN able to drive the car. Had to be towed all the way home and ruined what was the start of a small weekend break for my family. I know these things can happen but is it really possible for a brand new gear box and clutch to go that quickly?
