parking on street

Couple of years ago my council went on a local blitz of putting double yellows on corners of roads we did try and fight it but council got their own way. now we knew then there would be a problem when the home next door got sold and now we have the problem. I met teh new neighbours today and they expect me to not park over their boundary line as they would like to park outside their own house which i can understand. I like to park outside but I dont get the space all the time. the parking available is just the 3 cars tightly parked. we have 2 cars them one. I offered to move car which they thought was to another street but i only meant the couple of feet in front. with parking on another street i cant afford the repair bills after little scum had their fun. even outside mine car has been damaged by some scum. so far this yr outside mine has been keyed, broken mirror and some scum make a big dent in my bonnet.

they will be doing a dropped kerb so then we have another problem. I know they have no rights who parks outside theirs but then if they have a dropped kerb where do i stand? my car would stick over about 2ft. I will try speaking to council to see if they can shorten the double yellows by 2 ft. i realise i have more chance to flying to the moon but dont ask dont get.

New neighbours dont actually know the parking here after 7pm all roads will be full of cars and 2 way roads blocked to single narrow one central lane.

Any advice on what to do ?

moan over. sorry it did help
