I've just been given a 'Mercedes Citan 111 cdi' van the slightly longer panel van version from my work while my car is being serviced. I normally drive an old Renault Meganne and have never driven a van like that outside of a city before.
Could someone tell what the speed limits for this type of vehicle are? I tried to keep at 60 on the motorways since i was not sure but out of habit on the M42 i drove past the variable cameras at 70. (the cameras were off or at the very least not showing a different speed)
I believe that the speeds are:
30/40/50 as marked.
National speed limit single carriageways - 50
" " Dual Carriageways - 60
Motorways are 70 unless otherwise marked but I'm not sure for the van.
If someone could explain it would be much appreciated and let me if i will could have tripped the Gatso Cams on the M42. May as well know if i'm going to get points or not!
