I'm sure Snowball will be able to answer this question but I thought that max towing speed on m-ways/ dual carriageways was 60mph and 50mph on A roads where there aren't local restrictions.
In the course of my travels up and back from home to the Elgin area of Speyside, I encountered:
1) a caravan driving at 60 on an A road
2) a caravan towing a Smart car on an A frame at well over 60 on an overtaking lane part of the A9
3) a motorhome overtaking me at 60 on a straight section of A97 towing a car on an a frame.
Finally, a question about fifth-wheelers. I've met four in the last three months and whilst not much hold-up on main roads, two have been on Mull and they're worse than the forestry lorries - where's the rules regarding them, please?
