I'm rather new to the forum scene and not mechanically minded but I've read quite a few of the threads and am I right in understanding that if a new steering rack has not been fitted correctly, it can cause problems with the slip ring, often called the clock spring or airbag scrib? This in turn can cause the airbag lamp to light up.
Am I understanding this correctly as I've had my steering rack replaced in December? Since then, I've had 2 slip rings which have failed and the airbag lamp has been on since the slip ring failed. The ESP light also comes on from time to time. I've taken it to a few garages and no one seems to know what the problem is.
