The M6

Just to keep a group of school kids busy on a long bus run, what interesting things can I point out to them on the M6 between Carlisle and Stoke? A few obvious things come to mind like the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, the radar domes near Penrith and the Ashton Memorial and Lancaster University in Lancaster. Any other ideas?

The pupils are 12 - 18, evenly spread across all ages.
