Hi there I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me I recently swapped my golf tdi for a zafira the zafira was in limp mode and the fault was an egr valve fault I rang my friend who is a mechanic and he said it would be about £400 to replace I thought this would be ok as the golf was on its way out so I swapped it, I took it to my friends garage it's a 52 plate zafira 2ltr dti and he plugged it into the computer and it came up egr valve fault he took the manifold apart and checked the egr valve and he said it was opening and closing and it was clean so he advised me to take it a auto electrician the car is always in limp mode on a couple of occasions when I have been driving it the car spanner light goes off for a couple of minutes and it drives normal but there is a lot of black smoke coming from the exhaust on acceleration the limp mode kicks back in, it runs on about just over 2000revs and max speed is 60mph and less if uphill I took it to an auto Electrian and he said it might need a pump not sure which pump but it's electrical and it should come with a code that goes with the ecu does anybody know what this could be or is there another solution to fix?
