I recently bumped into a mark 5 golf 2 litre at rolling speed and we both pulled over I had my sister in the car so he took my details and we both took pictures.
There was no visible damage to either car at all and he said he was gonna get it checked out.
5 days later he rang me and said the damage is £890 and that 2 bumper clips have come out. He said it cost that much because he needs a genuine repair so I said go and get other quotes and get back to me. He also told me he hasn't rang the insurance company and will not be claiming for any injuries as it was rolling speed anyway.
I rang VW wolverhampton and they told me a new primed bumper and Labour to fit it would cost £200 in total. VW said they don't do resprays so he would need to get is sprayed first.
I don't know much about genuine respray places but could this respray cost £700? I Highly doubt it.
So where do I go from here? I don't want to be cocky and ring him and show him the quote in case he gets angry and goes through insurance anyway.
