Hi,
I Bought ix35 in December last yr 2nd hand from motorpoint (14 plate registered april 14, so just coming up for a year old, done approx. 13500 miles) and I have noticed recently that the rear brake discs have lips or grooves (not sure of the correct terminology) around the discs. On one side it is slightly worse that the other. Couple of questions - is this a problem? (braking is smooth).
Should this be covered under warranty (I understand the "wear and tear " clause manufacturers use to get out of covering this, but surely after 13500 the discs should not be like this? ie has there been a manufacturing fitting issue etc). If there is a problem and Hyundai will not fix under warranty should I go back to motorpoint (should they have sold a car with discs in this state? or should they have pointed them out?, they claim every car get a inspection by an engineer)
any help would be very much appreciated
I have pics but no option to attach?
